A Family You Will Find at Crown College

Coming to Crown College has been one of the best decision I have ever made. I didn't think I would love it there because I never consider coming to the college. A couple of weeks into school,
I knew, it was home for me.

Crown College has a good size of Hmong students who attends. My two and a half years of being here with them has been a great experience. Can't say they were the greatest people ever because there were rough times we all had with one another and we as sinful humans aren't perfect. Even so though we always come together to support and be there for one another as much as we can.

A few people don't understand why we always stick with each other or sit with each other. But there is really nothing misunderstanding about it. It's just like any other ethnic sitting together. We see the Chinese people with the Chinese people, the Koreans with the Koreans, and the African American with the African Americans. Not saying that there is never a mix in the group, but most time, you see people of the same race are with each other. Maybe it's because we grew up mostly surrounded by who we hang out with. I know a Hmong students who grew up hanging out with African Americans and when he came to Crown always with the Hmong people, it was weird for him. Hmong people are with each other as much as many other ethnicity who are with each other. Sometimes I find it so funny how few complain about Hmong students are always with each other and never go out of their way to be with other kind of people, never sit with others, talk to others, and etc...I laugh because they do the same as we do and aren't so different from us.

But away from all that, the Hmong students don't let all that complaints affect us and our community together. We enjoy each others presence and we are growing as a community.
